Provision of Consultancy Services for the Design and Supervision of Pump Station (Hope & Nootenzuil)

C.B. & and Associates Inc. were contracted by the National Drainage and Irrigation Authority (NDIA) to undertake the provision of consultancy services for the design and supervision of the pump station and associated civil works which included road works and revetment works- Lot 3 – Hope & Nootenzuil, Region No.4. Included in the civil works was the design of a fair-weather access road for the pump station at Hope and an all-weather access road at Nootenzuil.

Hydrological and Hydraulic Analysis

C.B. & Associates Inc. commenced consultancy services in April 2018. Consultancy services included the design of two pump stations at Hope and Nootenzuil, East Coast Demerara. The scope of the design services included topographic and bathymetric surveys to allow positioning of the structures; hydrologic analysis, hydraulic design of the pump station; geotechnical investigation and foundation analysis and design of the substructure; structural analysis and design of the superstructure; and ancillary works including drainage design (including flood risk assessment), access road design; electrical installation, etc.

Deliverables included detailed design drawings, layout and reinforcement details of the foundation and structural designs of the superstructure, and a final design report. Detailed engineer’s estimate and technical specifications were prepared for the construction of the pump stations.
