Provision of Consultancy Services for the Design and Supervision of Pump Station (Andrews, Essequibo)
C.B. & and Associates Inc. was contracted by the National Drainage and Irrigation Authority (NDIA) to undertake the provision of consultancy services for the design and supervision of the pump station and associated civil works which included road works and revetment works- Lot 1– Andrews, Essequibo Coast, Region No.2.
Hydrological and Hydraulic Analysis
C.B. & Associates Inc. commenced consultancy services on January 25, 2021. Consultancy services include the design of a pump station at Andrews on the Essequibo Coast, ten (10) kilometers from Supenaam. The scope of the design services included topographic and bathymetric surveys to allow positioning of the structures; hydrologic analysis, hydraulic design of the pump station; geotechnical investigation and foundation analysis and design of the substructure; structural analysis and design of the superstructure; and ancillary works including drainage design (including flood risk assessment), access road design; electrical installation, etc. Deliverables included detailed design drawings, layout and reinforcement details of the foundation and structural designs of the superstructure, and a final design report. Detailed engineer’s estimate and technical specifications were prepared for the construction of the pump stations.
Supervision services include:
- Monitoring the progress of the contractor
- Ensuring that all engineering specifications are met during construction
- Supervision of all field and laboratory testing
- Production of daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports
- Coordination of monthly progress meetings
