Design and Supervision of Rose Hall Early Childhood Development Centre
C.B. & Associates Inc. was contracted by Basic Needs Trust Fund Implementing Agency (BNTF IA) to undertake the design of an Early Childhood Development Centre at Rosehall to aid in the early development and stimulation of children within the region. This centre is comprised of a single-storey reinforced concrete and timber structure, approximately 3800 sq. ft in size. The scope included topographic surveys and foundation design.
Architectural Analysis and Design
C.B. & Associates Inc. provided architectural and structural design services for the building. Deliverables include detailed design drawings, including a 3D render, layout, and reinforcement details of the foundation and structural designs of the superstructure. Also included were the engineer’s estimate and technical specifications to accompany the tender documents.
Supervision services provided included:
General contract administration;
- Monitoring the progress of the contractor;
- Ensuring that all engineering specifications are met during construction;
- Supervision of all field and laboratory testing;
- Production of daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports;
- Coordination of monthly progress meetings

C.B. & Associates Inc., provided geotechnical investigation services for the purpose of establishing representative geotechnical parameters along Foreshores of Wellington Park to Epson, Region No. 6. The subsurface investigation consisted of two (2) Standard Penetration Tests (SPT) and two (2) In-situ Shear Vane Tests at two (2) locations, respectively. Deliverables included insitu shear vane testing, laboratory testing (Atterberg limits, moisture content and bulk density), and preparation of a geotechnical investigation report.
