Design & Infrastructural Enhancement of the Library of the University of Guyana
The Government of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana (GoG) with funding from the Caribbean Development (CDB), through the procurement of Technical Assistance (TA), sought to undertake a comprehensive assessment and detailed design for the construction of a new library facility at the University of Guyana. The detailed assessment was intended to address the adequacy and suitability of the current facility and to produce a state-of-the-art design to foster gender responsiveness, social inclusivity, and environmentally resilient infrastructure. The ultimate objective of this assignment was to produce engineering designs and corresponding bidding documents for the construction of a state-of-the-art library facility at a greenfield site, for the University of Guyana, Turkeyen. The scope included MEP designs, geotechnical investigation, topographic surveys and foundation design.
Structural Analysis and Design of Buildings and Structures
BOA in association with C.B. & Associates provided architectural and structural design services for the library. Deliverables included detailed design drawings, building services design (HVAC, MEP, IT), green building design, and structural and foundation designs. Also included were the engineer’s estimate and technical specifications to accompany the tender documents.
